I hired Amy to represent me in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy after consulting with many other attorneys regarding my complicated situation in which I owed a very large sum of money to the IRS and to the State of Massachusetts Department of Revenue. Even after making payments for several years the amount never seemed to decrease due to penalties and interest. At the last minute Amy was able to include my wife's debts from her former marriage and divorce. When I say last minute I mean I was ready to sign the papers to file when we presented my wife's situation to Amy and she said we could file jointly so Libby had to redo all of the paperwork. The other attorneys wanted to charge an outrageous amount of money to file a Chapter 13, in fact one attorney quoted me $8,000 to file a Chapter 13 and others said that I didn't qualify to file a Chapter 7 or they refused the case.
